Pregnant women’s diets play an important and direct role in the survival and development of fetus. Unfortunately, there are some foods that can cause miscarriage.
1. Seafood
Although seafood is rich in omega-3 fatty acids that are helpful in the development of fetus, you should avoid seafoods containing mercury. Foods such as salmon, crab or shark meat can be harmful to the baby’s brain.
2. Raw food
Saying no with raw foods during pregnancy is very essential. These foods have a lot of bacteria and viruses that can threaten the safety of mother and fetus. Experts advise the pregnant to eat foods that are cooked and chosen carefully. They should also avoid foods that have bacteria and viruses causing the infection.
3. Unpasteurized beverages
The pregnant women should not use milk, cheese or yogurt that is unlabelled, unknown about its origin or unpasteurized. The pregnant can eat cheese or drink non-fat milk but they should avoid unpasteurized cheeses such as feta or brie.
4. Unwashed fruits and vegetables
Cooking foods is a vital thing to the pregnant. Apart from avoiding raw or undercooked meat and fish, the future mothers should not forget to wash fruits, vegetables and other foods before eating.
5. Coffee and wine
Not using coffee, tea and wine during pregnancy helps the women prevent pregnancy-related complications and birth defects. Besides, the risk of miscarriage will be increased if they drink too much these 3 drinks.
